My passion for health was born due to my children suffering from skin conditions. Both of my children had eczema in early childhood that got better over time, however, when they reached their teenage years it came back with ferocity. Little did I know that it was because we didn’t treat the issue early on and their root cause was not addressed. 

All we did was reduce the symptoms. It took us a long time to get to the root cause of their issue and once it was addressed we found the cure. While helping my children on their journey to health my passion for nutritional therapy was born.

It took us a long time to get to the result, and I want to help other parents understand how nutrition affects our health. While studying at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, I became fascinated by skin conditions that are connected to our digestive tract, and hormonal health. Now, I am happy to start helping others overcome their health issues by finding the root cause instead of masking the symptoms.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

The proper functioning of the body relies on the presence of essential nutrients. When these nutrients are deficient in the diet or their absorption is limited, the body’s natural healing mechanisms can be delayed, potentially leading to the development of various health issues. 

Nutritional therapy is a holistic approach to health and wellness that focuses on using food including herbs and spices, lifestyle changes and supplements to promote and maintain good health as well as preventing illness and suffering. This approach helps to address imbalances in our body to restore homeostasis. 

A holistic approach focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying cause of the dis-ease, in contrast to conventional treatments that often involve masking symptoms through medication.

With Nutritional therapy, there is no one size fits all approach as we all are unique individuals, so it focuses on a personalised approach. 

How can it help you? Based on the assessment and your goals, I will create a customised nutrition plan. This plan will outline what foods to eat, portion sizes, meal timing, and any necessary dietary restrictions. I will also include exercise and lifestyle recommendations to support you on your journey to optimal wellness.
